Story:

Port Townsend, Washington (Jefferson County) Police Department Tuesday, December 28, 2010, an 8 year old boy was reported missing by his father after a visitation with his mother who did not have custody. Communications Officer Allen called A Child Is Missing and provided a description of the boy, the boy’s mother and the vehicle to be distributed via telephone. A Child Is Missing placed over 1,100 calls over the area where the boy was last seen, asking anyone with information to contact Police. Information from the calls led Police 45 miles away to Bremerton. According to the Port Townsend Police Department , “Tips coming in led to the eventual arrest of the suspect and safe return of the child.”

Disabled - Recovered: Saturday, May 15, 2010

Story:

Hoquiam, Washington (Grays Harbor County) Police Department Saturday, May 15, 2010, an 18 year old boy with autism was watching his brother play basketball at a local park. He became hungry and when the game ended he disappeared. Sergeant Krohn activated A Child Is Missing to assist his agency with the search. More than 2,300 alert calls were placed surrounding the park as well as his home address in the event he headed toward home. Police received 12 calls from the public as a result of the A Child Is Missing Alert calls- one of which gave the boys location approximately 2.5 miles from where he had last been seen. According to Sergeant Krohn, “We would not have found him had we not responded to the tip.”

Missing Elderly - Recovered: Tuesday, May 01, 2007

Story:

Seattle, WA (King County) – May 1, 2007 A Child Is Missing was called upon by the Seattle Police Department for assistance with a missing 76 year old woman. The woman was reported missing at approximately 7:30 pm. ACIM placed over 1200 calls to the area. According to Detective David Ogard, she was located by a man who received the ACIM Alert call before going out for a run. “When his dog started acting funny near a bush, he went to investigate and found the missing woman. She had fallen and was not able to get up. He waved down a patrol car searching in the neighborhood” stated Detective Ogard.
